The full size gargoyle would be a stone sculpture extending off the building. The channel along the top (visible in the picture above) would take the water along the gargoyle, out the open mouth, and fall away from the building.

Of course, you can put the little guy on a shelf and let him watch you go about your day to day business.
Timothy the Wall Mount gargoyle is made of gypsum cement and is suitable for outside display.
